The Reflective Engineer - Engineers Without Borders Sweden

Engineers Without Borders USA was founded in 2002 with a simple goal: help small communities in the developing world meet basic infrastructure needs by connecting them with engineers with experience in those areas. Members collaborate with communities to find sustainable solutions for sanitation, water supply, agriculture, energy, and civil works. Engineers Without Borders – Georgia Tech is a chapter of EWB-USA, a large non-profit humanitarian organization. The goal of this organization is to support community-driven development projects worldwide through partnerships that design and implement sustainable engineering projects. Engineers Without Borders Norway (EWB-N) promote development through supplying engineering competence to other Non-Governmental Organisation (NGOs). EWB-N is a member-based NGO with partners in norwegian businesses and the aid sector. We were established in 2011 and we’re part of Engineers Without Borders International (EWB-I).

The model of education that Engineers Without Borders uses is called service learning, which consists of students getting experience by building infrastructure in struggling 3rd world communities.
